Can you imagine being on death row without being guilty?

In November 1998 I purely coincidentally read in the Internet about a case in Pennsylvania. In 1991 a young man, father of two, was convicted of shooting a seventeen-year-old girl in Philadelphia because of a pair of earrings. The name of the convicted is James (Jimmy) A. Dennis. In 1992 he was sentenced to death. But after reading many testimonies and records I know that there is an innocent man on death row and the real killer is still at large.

I think none of us can imagine what Jimmy is going through. None of us can feel the pain his parents are feeling. And none of us can give him back his youth. A court of Philadelphia has stolen the youth of an innocent man. And now they are even going to steal his life. Regardless what you think about death penalty: I am sure you are pro justice. That is all Jimmy is asking for.

Now I have decided to help Jimmy here from Singapore where I live. People from all over the world are fighting for his life. Because of one reason: HE IS INNOCENT!

Sincerely

Homayoun Dara

P.S.: Special thanks to Ms. Petra E. Richter for providing sufficient information and drawing my attention to this case!

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

03.04.2000 Jimmy's health condition has become much better. Thanks to everyone who protested against this inhuman policy!

12.06.1999 I just received an e-mail from Petra that Jimmy is seriously sick and that he is not getting any respectful medical treatment except painkillers. This behavior is unacceptable for any prisoner! Therefor I ask all of you to write a fax to the head of the SCI Greene Jail and ask them to provide proper medical treatment. This is a massive violation of human rights and dignity. Please help!

The fax number is 001-724 852 5506

From Singapore: 012-1-724 852 5506

But there is also good news! Jimmy's attorney has reached a decision by a judge that he can reinvestigate the case until September.
