Hi! Welcome to Chao Mugger, E-Ching's English Lit essay site. Especially for my juniors in Raffles Junior College, but all are welcome. More about this site for the curious. I'm now in Yale majoring in English lit, so I feel rather out of touch with what's happening in Singapore. Proof positive: I didn't realise how traumatic the haze is for everyone at home! But I did know about the other pall over my sunny homeland -- the prelims and other exams. Good luck, all of you enduring either! Try not to burn out too early. Some presents I've created to honour the occasion:
The contents of this site are based on the 'A' and 'S' level compulsory texts that my juniors are doing. Comments are always welcome. And your essays, too! I positively hunger for contemporary work. :-) So, shall I mail you when there are new essays? Chao Mugger owes a lot to many people. My heartfelt thanks are due to all contributors to this site. My brother Yi-Sheng and Siew Lian especially have collected lots of essays and links for me, and my ex-teacher Mr Mike Evans is now actively involved too. This site would not be possible without their support. Which site is closer to you?
Chao Mugger in Singapore
I recommend the Singapore site for now, because I'm using the Yale site as a testbed for style sheets and dynamic fonts. A veritable minefield for unwary browsers. Which text are you mugging?
This site most desperately needs new essays, especially some by the J1s and J2s it's for. Contributions dealing with all of these texts are very welcome indeed:
