- How easy is it for me to create my own 360°
PixAround Webpage? Do I need special equipment?
Anyone can create a PixAround Webpage. All you need
to do is to snap pictures all around with a regular
digital camera that lets you upload the images to a PC.

- Do I need special cameras and tripod to shoot
the photos for my PixAround Scene?
No, you don't need special cameras. All you need is
a digital camera which allows you to import your photos,
after they're taken, into the computer. It will be
useful to have a tripod but this is not essential.

- I do not have a digital camera. Can I create
a PixAround Webpage using a regular analog camera?
You can also use an analog camera, but it will involve
a little more work as you'll have to first develop
the film and then scan the photo prints into the computer.
For best quality, you may want to consider developing
the film into Kodak's PhotoCD format which is supported
by PixMaker.

- What is the correct way to snap a 360° PixAround
Scene and get the best results?
The correct way is to stand upright, holding your
digital camera with its base or side parallel to the
floor. Turn right on the same spot to take a series
of shots all around you, overlapping each shot by
30 - 50 percent. Refer to our guide on phototaking
for more details.

- I noticed that there's a "Lens" setting
in PixMaker. What is this?
This refers to the camera lens setting that you were
using when you snapped your pictures. The lens setting
that you select may dramatically affect the stitching
quality. However, if you are not sure which setting
was used, just leave it as "Auto".

- Oops, I've taken my pictures in the wrong direction
(orientation). Can I rotate them?
Sure, you can rotate those images which are not in
the correct orientation in PixMaker. To do that:
- Launch PixMaker and import the images from where
you stored them in your computer into the PixMaker
software.
- Select the images which are in the wrong orientation
(to select more that 1 image, hold the Shift key and click on the images).
- Go to Stitch in the menu bar and select Rotate.
The images will rotate 90 degrees upon each click of the Rotate option.

- I've taken some shots using the Sony Mavica.
I can't stitch or view the images from the diskette. Why?
Sony Mavica adds another file of the same file name
(with a different extension) of the image that you
have taken. For example, the first picture is named
MVC-001S.JPG and there will be another file named
MVC-001S.411. When you try to view or stitch from
PixMaker Lite, it is not able to interpret the *.411
file and thus reports an error.
To solve the problem, create a folder and copy
ONLY the JPG files to the folder. By doing so, you
will be able to view and stitch the images. The
stitching process will also be faster as the program
will be reading from the hard drive instead of the diskette.
