- Why is it that after stitching the images, the
resulting PixAround Scene is so narrow that much of
the picture is cropped off?
This is because when you snapped the pictures, you
probably did not hold the camera firm enough. As a
result, your shots appear irregular. This forces the
PixMaker software to take the average visual area
that is constant throughout your images. You can try
to salvage the situation by using Manual Stitching.
Under Stitch in the menu bar, select "Manual Align".
For best results however, we recommend that you mount
your camera on a tripod stand, and snap your images
in portrait mode as opposed to the default landscape mode.

- The PixMaker software does the automatic stitching
for me. How do I fine-tune the stitching process?
Under Stitch in the menu bar, select "Manual
Align". Then, manually adjust the alignment of the images.

- How do I adjust the alignment of one portion
of my PixAround Scene?
(See above answer.)

- I imported my images into the software and stitched
them but everything was messed up. What happened?
You may have snapped your images in an anti-clockwise
instead of a clock-wise direction. To rectify this,
select all images, then under Stitch, click on Reverse Order.

- I have seen PixAround Webpages with icons embedded
in them that allow me to take a virtual tour or display
dedicated information. How do I do this?
The Hotspot feature is only available in PixMaker 1.0 (Business Edition)
and PixMaker (Home Edition).

- Can I put links or Hotspots within a PixAround Scene?
The hyperlink and Hotspot features are only available
in PixMaker 1.0. Click here for more information.

- Why does PixMaker take a longer time to stitch my images compared to
stitching the images in the Sample files?
The sizes of your images are probably larger than the Sample images. To speed up the stitching
of your images, you may like to use a photo editing software to scale down the resolution of
the images.
- Can I stitch images of different formats?
This is possible. However, the file size of the resulting image is
dependent on the file size of the original images. Users will need to be aware that the
larger the file size is, the longer the PixAround Scene may take to load. Therefore we
recommend that you use only JPEG images.

- Can I stitch Bitmap images of more than 24-bits?
We are looking into developing this option.

- How is PixMaker 1.0 different from PixMaker Lite in terms of its stitching ability?
The stitching ability of PixMaker 1.0 is better. The improvements are:
- Better memory management. This means that PixMaker 1.0 stitches higher resolution images
faster than PixMaker Lite.
- Able to cancel stitching halfway
- Improved color correction
- Sharpening control
- Blend control for each pair of images
- Automatic estimation of lens
- Manual distortion correction
- Flat stitch option
- Object View stitch option
- Able to stitch images of different widths & heights.

- What is distortion correction?
Certain lenses, especially wide angle lens, may distort images.
Images taken with these lenses may not be stitched properly even if the lens
parameter is chosen correctly. Distortion correction helps to alleviate this problem by
correcting Pincusion Distortion when the Distortion Correction value in the lens settings is
set to positive, & Barrel Distortion when the value is set to negative. When the value is set to 0,
no distortion correction is done.
- Why does the stitching process slow down when distortion correction
is set to a non-zero value?
PixMaker has to warp the image to correct the distortion before aligning & stitching.
An extra step is involved when the distortion correction is set to non-zero so this slows down
the stitching process.
- How do I find out the distortion value for my images?
Select an image which is supposed to have straight lines. If the straight lines are curved
especially at the corner of the image, adjust the Distortion Correction value till the curved
lines become straight again.
- When I set the distortion correction value to non-zero,
the lens is set to "Auto". Why?
When the Distortion Correction is set to non-zero, the lens settings will be affected.
So it is safer to set the lens to Auto until the program finds the new lens setting
for the user.
- How does the sharpness value in the Stitching Settings affect the final stitched results?
The sharpness value controls the sharpness of the final stitched image. The
higher the value, the more it sharpens. A value of zero will not sharpen the image at all.
Whenever a panoramic image is being stitched, it will be sharpened automatically at the final stage.

- How many images do I need to stitch a 360° PixAround Scene?
The number of images you need depends on the field of view (FOV) or the lens used. There
isn't a fixed number. However, the optimum number of images needed to stitch a 360°
PixAround Scene is 12.
