From what I know, Bleach was a popular manga serialized in Japan Shonen Jump.

Now the highly anticipated anime series has finally arrived on TV for all anime fans out there.

The debut episode aired on Tuesday October 5th, 2004 at 6:30PM on TV Tokyo.

The Bleach series follows the life of a 15 year old high-school student, Kurosaki Ichigo who was leading a normal life except for the fact that he can see spirits and has an exceptionally high spiritual energy, not to mention his cool orange hair. Then his life changed after Kuchiki Rukia, a Shinigami (死神- death god) came to save him from being eaten by a hollow (evil spirit). During battle with a Hollow Rukia is badly injured and Ichigo is forced to make a choice. Either die, or become a Shinigami by piercing his heart with a sword to save his family, and naturally he chooses the latter. After taking all of Rukia's power Ichigo is forced to stay a Shinigami while Rukia recuperates back to her old self. And thus they embark on an epic journey, their mission: send good souls to their final resting place in Soul Society, and defeat the evil Hollows.
