Gohan's the first son of Goku, and he's the darling of every mother. He's obedient, humble, diligent and hardworking. If he had continued to train instead of studying after the Cell era, he could well be the strongest character in the whole DB series, because he has lots of hidden "fighting potential". Still, he chose studies ahead of continuing to train because of two reasons. One being that his mother wanted him to study, and being the good boy he always is, he listens. The other reason is that he doesn't really like to fight at all, instead, he likes nature and stuff like that. It's because of him that Piccolo became part of the "Z Team", and he's the only person Piccolo really like in the whole of the DB saga. For a really short period during the DB saga, Gohan was the main character, where he was also known as "The Golden-Haired Warrior", or "The Great Saiyaman", which he was later known as. "The Great Saiyaman" more or less was the "defender" of Satan City where he studied in. His identity was eventually discovered by his wife-to-be Videl who was Mr. Satan's daughter.
