Feburary 2000, one of the hobbyshop was having sale. On the shelf was my all-time favourite Zero fighter. A 40 size plane, i was thinking of putting in my OS-46FX-H. It was an ARF kit from EZ and for S$300 it was quite a bargain. With the kit, i got myself a scale master-airscrew scale 3 bladed prop and 2.5" dubro spinner.
Upon opening the box, i saw how detail the kit was and it would be a
waste to fly it. I decided to convert it into a display/static model. Taking
out the retracts and putting it aside,i fixed up the tail plane to the
fuselarge and fixed the wing halves together.
Finding a dummy engine was tough but searching through my debri drawer,
i found a damaged OS32 engine. Bolted on the engine mount, prop and spinner,
it finally look like a decent zero fighter.
Now, without retracts, i have to find some way to hang the plane. Hanging
it upsidedown seemed the way and a hollow ceiling in my room might just
be the answer. 3 holes drilled on the ceiling and strings tied, it became
"permanent" on my room ceiling.
Below is a close-up
looks cool huh?? how about one from your room??
