Testers

Check Tester

This check tester has 18 LEDs to check EIA interface problem by plugging the CHECK tester between custom equipment. The LEDs light up red for positive, green for negative and both light together for proper data transfer of EIA lines 2,3,4,5,8,11,19 and 20.
Connectors : DB25P male and DB25S female on each end.

RS-232 Mini Tester

This RS-232 mini tester is easy to test for failed RS-232 interfaces. 7 two-color LED's monitor the most commonly used RS-232 lines : 2(TD), 3(RD), 4(RTS), 5(CTS), 6(DSR), 8(CD) and 20(DTR). It requires no external power and is powered directly from the RS-232 port.
Connectors : DB25P male and DB25S female on each end

Converters & Data extenders

RS-232 to RS-485/RS-422 Bidirectional Converter (IC-485S)
FEATURES
- Controlled by RTS selectable
- DCE/DTE selectable
- Compact Size
- Point to point/multidrop link selectable.
- Monitor mode selectable
- 4-wire full duplex/2-wire half duplex

The IC-485S is a hardware solution to the problem of converting signals between two standards. Data transfer can be accomplished at up to 1200m (4000ft) and can utilize either 4-wire or 2-wire cable for full or half duplex respectively. The converter copes with any RS-485/422 device to function as a short haul modem or an interface converter.
Request to Send (RTS) selection enables up to 32 receivers to be set up in a multi-drop connection, thus making a cost effective network. Point-to-point and monitor connections are also possible.

Function Specification
Power Consumption DC 9V 150mA (Max)
Data Rate 1200m (4000ft, under 100K bps)
Connector Input RS-232, DB25 Female
Connector Output RS-485/422; a 4 Terminal Block or RJ-11
Function Switch SW1 DCE, DTE, Monitor Selection
Function Switch SW2 TxON, RxON; T-RTS, R-RTS; T-RTS, RxON
Enclosure Plastic
Weight 60g
Dimensions (L x W x H ) 74.5 x 54 x 18.5 (mm)

Bi-directional Converter-Buffer (SXP-320/SXP-325)
FEATURES
- Direction setting through DIP Switch
- Built in buffer for efficient operation
- Easy installation

Convert from parallel to serial or serial to parallel with the SXP-320 or the SXP-325. For an added advantage, the SXP-325 contains 256KB of memory, giving the additional benefit of a printer buffer to the unit. Both units contain a DIP switch for easy data flow direction setting. Small enough to make it portable for convenient operation almost anywhere. The units support hardware handshake and XON-XOFF software handshake, and have a serial speed of up to 38400 bps with a maximum parallel transfer rate of 10K Bytes per second.

Function Specification

RS-232 Line Driver (IC-150)
Function Specification
Power Consumption No external power required. Power derived from RS-232 interface
Connectors RS-232: One DB-25P (Male) or DB-25S(Female)
Line : 4 Screw Terminal Strip, RJ-11 Jack
Interface Digital:RS-232/CCITT V.24
Line : 2 Twisted Pairs (or RJ-11 Jack)
Switch Selectable for DTE/DCE Mode
Data Rate 0-19200 bps
Enclosure Metal
Weight 90g
Dimensions(LxWxH) 85 x 53 x 26 (mm)
The non-powered Line Driver facilitates efficient transmission and reception of serial data without requiring an external power source. The unit drives your data at various speeds up to 19200 bps over distances up to 1.2 miles using 24-gauge wire (transmitting at 110 bps over distances up to 18 miles).

This compact unit plugs directly into the back of your asynchronous terminal, which saves the space that a standalone unit would use and also eliminates the bulk and cost of RS-232 cables. Your line driver is powered by the host RS-232 interface and therefore requires no separate outlet or power supply. It provides 1500VAC lightning surge protection and differential circuitry. The unit is switch selectable for DCE/DTE.

The Line Driver provides asynchronous transmission and operates full-duplex over 4 wires. At slower speeds, the distance increases. Transmission performance may vary depending on operating conditions and wire gauge.
