GULPER
- This is the conceptual "gulper" developed for my degree project
selected among 4 other proposed concepts. It is assembled from fabricated parts.
- Its operation is controlled by a BasicX micro-controller.
- It has no sensor to locate the tennis balls.
It relies on user to pin-point the balls' locations on a map in a PDA.
The data is later beamed to the Gulper through infrared transceiver.
- The gulper works by trapping the balls through a 1-way door.
- At a defined deposit position, the gulper will lift its cage & move-away as it deposits the balls.
- The above pics demonstrate the gulper concept by using parts from the LEGO RIS.
- It has only 2 motors. Motor 1 is used for steering.
Motor 2 is used for driving & open/close the cage.
The cage movement is based on a 4-bar linkage.
