Names   The Cobia is known in many areas as the Black King Fish.The other common names are Cobe,Sergent Fish,Crab Eater,Lemon Fish and Ling.Their scientific name is Rachycentron Canadus. Description   The Cobia is a dark,broad-headed fish which resembles a shark.They have dark fins and large eyes. Size   Cobia can reach a length of 1.8m and a weight of 80kgs.the common weights are 3-20kgs. Habits   Cobia likes to congregate near structures like breakwalls,buoys etc.They usually travel in the companny of whale sharks,manta rays and tiger sharks. Fishing Techniques   The Cobia diet is mainly live fish,crabs,prawns,squid,octupus, dead fish.They can also be caught by trolling.Poppers can also be used if they are in sight but won't take the bait no matter what you use or how you temp it. Eating Qualities   Cobias are very good eating fish. Their flesh is white, firm and sweet.
