Queenfish


Names
 
The queenfish is commonly known as 'queenie','skinny fish','skinny' or whitefish.Their scientic name is Chorinemus Lysan.


Description
 
The queenfish is a long and is laterally-compressed fish.They have green backs and their sides are usually white or silver.Theres also a series of dark blotches along its side.


Size
 
The common weights of the queenfish are from 1-7kgs but they can grow up to weights of 10-15kgs.


Habits
 
They travel both in groups and alone.They prefer slightly discoloured or green water and warm water.Their source of food are mullet,anchovy,garfish,small fishes,mudskippers,prawns and squid.


Fishing Techniques
 
They can be caught on lures,live bait,fish strips and dead baits.A trace of heavy mono or wire may be used.


Eating
Qualities
 
They have firm white meat but are a bit dry.They should be put on ice once caught. But smaller queenfishes do not have much meat so it is advisable to release smaller ones.Queenfishes are nomally released.
