Fishing in Singapore
This pacu was also caught at the same place as the carp. The weight of this fish is not known as it was safely released unharmed after taking photos. It is estimated to be around 1.5 kgs and it was also caught on handline.
This is Bedok jetty in East Coast Park.there are many types of fish to be caught here. Mainly kembong and tamban. Look at the pictures below to see the various fishes I have caught from this place. (Thats me wearing the blue/black cap standing on the chair retriving my fish.)
![]() On one occation I caught kei kei, a baby garoupa, a leather jacket, and some other fishes.
![]() During the season, large kembongs or tambans can be caught. I was one of the lucky ones to experience this and this chance only lasts for about half an hour or so and the huge school of these fishes are gone. During this time, cross lines are common as many people are casting at the schools at the same time. But sad to say, Bedok jetty is getting more unproductive. Recently when I went there, only two guys managed to catch a few tambans.
