INTRODUCTION

CI-Premier Conference Organisation will be presenting the 7th International Conference on STEEL & SPACE STRUCTURES in Singapore on 2 - 4 October 2002 following the success of the previous SIX (6) conferences held since 1984.

The SINGAPORE STRUCTURAL STEEL SOCIETY continues its official support for the Conference.

1984 - 1st Conference - Singapore
1985 - 2nd Conference - Indonesia
1987 - 3rd Conference - Singapore
1990 - 4th Conference - Singapore
1994 - 5th Conference - Indonesia
1999 - 6th Conference - Singapore

Call for Papers

Submission of ABSTRACTS of about 200 - 300 words are now invited from AUTHORS for the conference, to be held from 2 - 4 October 2002, Singapore on the following themes:

  1. Design and analysis
  2. Fabrication and construction
  3. Codes and Specifications
  4. New Materials
  5. Information Technology
  6. Applications and New Technologies of steel and space structures.

Both research and practical approaches will be considered. Project implementation and case presentation will be a major theme in the conference.

The themes are not exhaustive and submissions, which fall within the conference title may be accepted and included for presentation. We also welcome your recommendations for special session topics.

Please note that it is part of the requirements of submission of abstract that the Author or one of his/her co-authors will present the paper at the conference and that all papers to be included in the conference documentation must be registered.

The language of the Conference is English.

CONFERENCE AWARDS:

TWO categories of Awards will be instituted at the 7th Conference:

1. 'Young Steel Researchers Award' for Researchers below the age of 35 years.

2. 'Highly Commendable Awards' for outstanding and original papers submitted, accepted and presented at the Conference

The above Awards are non-competitive.
