"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me besides quiet waters, he restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." Psalm 23.

Christianity is about our relationship with our Creator and God............. Man used to enjoy a close relationship with God, his creator. Unfortunately, because of man's sins, this relationship was broken. "...for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." (Romans 3 : 23) God is holy and just and He cannot tolerate our sins.
Sin leads to death and eternal separation from God. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6 : 23) "Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgement." (Hebrews 9 : 27) But that is not the end of the story. God, besides being just and holy, is also loving. He wants to solve the problem of sin in man and to be reconciled with him. So, He sent His Son, Jesus, as a man to live with man on earth. Jesus lived a faultless life on earth and then died on the Cross to pay for the consequence of sin in mankind. He died so that we may live. His death also bridged the gap between man and God. "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8) Three days after Jesus' death, He arose from the dead.
Whoever confesses his/her sins and accepts Christ's gift of life or salvation, is thus cleansed of their sins and reconciled with God. With this, we become the children of God and have eternal life! "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith- and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast." (Ephesians 2 : 8-9) "Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God." (John 1 : 12)
