The following are the files containing these screens on your computer.
C:\Logo.sys - Startup Screen
C:\Windows\Logow.sys - Wait Screen
C:\Windows\Logos.sys - Shutoff Screen
First backup the files LOGOS.SYS, LOGOW.SYS and LOGO.SYS and put them into a folder or somewhere safe, just in case you ever want to return them to their default setting. These logos can be found in your WINDOWS folder, by default Win95 hides these system files. To unhide, open My Computer. Then under the View menu, select Options. This will bring up a windows with three tabs located at the top, i.e. Folders, View and File Types. Click on the View tab and select show all files option. One caution, your Windows folder always needs a LOGOW.SYS and a LOGOS.SYS in it...otherwise when you shutdown your computer you'll get a empty screen, so please make sure you have any version of these screens in there before you shutdown.
Download any or all zip packs of your choice. Place each zip pack in a temp directory and unzip. If you don't know how to unzip files, I'd suggest using Winzip.
When you want to change your shutdown screens, simply delete the current LOGOW.SYS and LOGOS.SYS from the WINDOWS. Now PASTE your favorite LOGOW.SYS and LOGOS.SYS from the unpacked zip file into C:\WINDOWS.
As for the startup screen, select your favorite LOGO.SYS, PASTE it into the root directory of your boot up drive. That's it! You now have your very own startup/ shutdown screens.
Or you can just download and install the Screen Changer Software. This will change the startup screen every time you bootup.
Have Fun!!
