Transport

PT. Hafar Daya Samudera successively transports hundreds of metric tons of dry bulk around Sulaweisi and Java Sea: merbau, cement, minerals, timber and other products. Consequently the holds of our barges must be completely cleaned before each new load. To carry this out, all barges are, of particular note, subject to the cleaning efficacy of high-pressured cleaning devices. As a result, the crew's job becomes simpler and the use of water and chemicals are to a minimum. Where necessary, our onsite Quality Assurance Supervisor (QAS) may supervise the operation to ascertain that it the cleaning is done effectively and in compliance with environmental standards, notably as far as discharge into the ocean is concerned.

Within the framework of its varied activities, PT. Hafar Daya Samudera makes a commitment that at all times, its operations are performed in a manner which safeguards its employees and subcontractors.

The onsite Quality Assurance Supervisor (QAS) has various responsibilities.

He/She makes sure:

that implementation of the quality method is performed
of the scheduling of internal audits and followup
look into and followup any anomalies
Draws up corrective actions
that all anomalies are reported and performance indicators are submitted to the head office
that any subsequent updates and revisions are applied

He/She assumes a dual role:

He/She carries the position of an onsite designated personnel
He/She is in charge of the safety office at the site of operation

As a result:

He/She collects and analyses the results of the performance indicators and submit reports on all information gathered
He/She makes sure that all personnel (at sea and and on land) are well versed with the system and the job at hand
He/She makes sure that safety guidelines are strictly adhered to
He/She maintains the established safety protocols
He/She ensures liaises between the personnel on board vessels and the office.
He/She discovers the crew's needs for training in an area of safety and informs the office of these needs
He/She participates in Management Assessments of the Quality and Safety system

Patrol Facilities

Our tugs and patrol boats can assist any stranded boats to establish enough buoyancy, to refloat it and tow it away. Barges can be used to discharge containers, for example, or to conduct vessel to vessel transfer. We also have the expertise to call on underwater welders to temporarily repair a hole in the under-hull and utilise high-pressured pumps to drain out the flooded compartments.  Capable of a bollard pull of 9 tonnes and a free running speed of 8.5 knots, she is extremely maneuverable. As far as navigation is concerned, standard features such as GP32 System, 45 VHF Radio, Magnetic Compass and Arrow PA System are incorporated.

Assistance and Salvage Ops

We have been involved in preventing boats from running aground, offering help and salvage support, prevent any risk of pollution, and escort damaged vessels to their station of repair. For this, we can market patrol boats that are on call 24 hours a day to respond to emergencies.

Team

Our teams have the know-how in standard pollution prevention and recovery methods to allow them to attend to on-surface pollution including the repair of damaged tanks. They would have gained valuable experience at sea, and sharing it with fellow crews and constantly improving their knowledge through on-the-job training. It takes up to 5 years at sea to pick up sufficient knowledge to handle these kinds of situations.

Stand-by

Stand-by ops for boats within radar range and assisting them to resume their normal course. For a tug, this involves remaining along side a boat to ensure its safety and if necessary to take action should the situation deteriorate (e.g. in the event of bad weather).

Other diverse operations includes the recovery of buoys, pollution reconnaissance and operations that help to maintenance of safety levels.

Oil spillage

removing hazardous materials on board vessels that might otherwise spill into the ocean

cleaning the water's surface with skimmering devices

spraying of dispersal agents

conducting sea searches for cargo containers, etc.
