THE BLACK ARROWANA

Common name : Black Arrowana, Black Dragon Fish
Distribution : South America (Negro River)
Food : Live fish, insects, crickets, frogs and small prawns and lizards etc. Will sometimes take dead food.
Size : 39 in
Temperature : 75 - 90 F

Personally, I find that this is the least beautiful among all the Arrowanas. This is contributed by the fact that it possesses a tapered tail and a black body. It is also not a protected species and is quite easily availble.
