Company background
Rochor Airlines was recently setup to provide value for money air transportation to travelers. Currently, the airline has a fleet of 4 aircraft, 40 pilots, 80 cabin crews and 30 office personnel.
It is a Singapore based carrier which operates point to point passenger flights in and out of Singapore to destinations within a 4 hours radius.
The airline is a low cost carrier similar to Tiger Airways of Singapore and Air Asia of Malaysia. Flights are no frills i.e. no free meals, snacks or drinks; strict enforcement of baggage allowance; no refunds and no fancy tickets issued to passengers.
The airline saves distribution costs by bypassing the traditional middleman, the travel agents and sells seats through a website on the Internet. It advertises flights to its various destinations through the local newspapers and does marketing campaigns e.g. promotions and participating in local events to increase visibility and sales.
The airline has employed a call centre to handle calls from prospective customers to avoid flooding the sales/marketing department with calls and disrupting the work of the staff.
The airline now flies to 4 regional cities such as Bangkok, Hong Kong, Taipei and Calcutta. There are no offices at these stations and the company engages agents to deal with passenger, traffic, flight operations and other matters. Communication needs are via faxes, telephone and email.
