IT, the knock-out punch

The spirit of humankind will never die; it just passed on to the next generation.

         We have progressed from smoke signals, mirror signals, Morse codes, telegrams, telephones, radios, televisions, then the hand phones. Each generation faced the challenges posed by each progression. Some would have grumbled, others might have shied away, but finally it established itself as a way of life. We sometimes wondered how the early generations could have done without the refrigerator, or the rice cooker, or the washing machine.

         Each generation would come up with new ways of doing things. The reaction would range from fear, to excitement. No matter what, the next generation will look back and wonder; how can anyone stay away from it?

         Today we are in the middle of the Information Technology revolution. Once again all of us, especially the remnants of the last generation has to call upon the human spirit, so that the future generation will not have to wonder why we are afraid to take part in it.

         Some would say; why bother, my life is comfortable just as it is. We all know what made humankind to climb the highest mountain of the land? To the depths of the ocean? To the moon? The human spirit will has always answered - because it is there. Going from one challenge to the next until we are called to our eternal rest. So as long as there is light let none of us stare in darkness.

         The IT revolution has favoured the senior people in our community. The dot.com failed because it only knows how to sell, but has no knowledge or skill to sell. The senior people has the skills and the knowledge. Get in touch with me and see what we can do together.

Life need not be dull; the sun need not set on us.
You have the human spirit to take up the challenge;
Live life to the fullest until the end.
For we travel this way only once.

At this time I would invite you to join me in a moment of silent to show our respect to David McTaggart who has exemplified the strength of the human spirit.
