VIA MVP3

The VIA MVP3 core logic chipset went far into extending the life of the Socket 7 platform by pushing the FSB performance envelope upwards to a new high of 100MHz. It was also one of the first chipsets to introduce AGP technology to the Socket 7 platform. This together with the support for UDMA/33 and a large 2048KB Level 2 cache enabled Socket 7 processors, such as the AMD K6-2 and the Cyrix/IBM 6x86MX, to narrow the performance advantage that the Slot-1 based Pentium II had over them.

The Key Features:

  • AGP 1x and 2x mode
  • 66/75/83/95/100MHz FSB capabilities
  • UDMA/33 protocol supported
  • Supports up to 1GB SDRAM

    Types Of Memory Supported:

  • PC100 SDRAM
  • BDDR SRAM II
  • Extended Data Output (EDO)
  • Fast Page (FP)
