Dear Associates,

We are in a position to deliver ten metric tons (or more) of high purity (99.999% by weight) aluminum. Repetitive shipments can also be arranged.

The chemical specification corresponds to the m5N grade according to the "ALFA Finest Inorganic Research Chemicals and Metals" catalogue of Johnson Matthey. The representative chemical analysis (translated from an original Russian document) as shown in the table below.

The aluminum is normally delivered in the form of cylindrical bars, each about 70 mm in diameter and about one meter in length. These are packed in polyethylene and stowed in wooden crates, each of about 80 kgs gross weight.

Payment is to be made either by Pre-Payment or by Irrevocable Letter of Credit with validity of 60 days.

If the above is in line with your requirements, Kindly FAX

Attachment: Specifications of Aluminum

The total impurities content of the sample (except H, C, N, O, F, S, Cl) is no more that 0.001% by weight.

The purity grade of the sample is 99.999% by weight. The purity grade of the sample corresponds to m5N grade according to the "ALFA Finest Inorganic Research Chemicals and Metals" catalogue of Johnson Matthey.

The sample is radiologically safe; the total radioactivity of the sample is no more than 2 x 10-10 Cu/g.

Sampling was made by the customer. The total impurities evaluation was made by Spark Source Mass Spectrometry (SSMS). The JMS-01-BM2 double focusing mass spectrometer manufactured by JEOL (Japan) was applied. The high-resolution mass spectra were photographed on Ilford-Q plates. Joyce Loebl (United Kingdom) MDM6 micro densitometer and NOVA 4 (USA) on-line minicomputer were used for the mass spectrum lines identification.

Quantity estimation was calculated by original MS & GC Laboratory software. The relative standard deviation for the SSMS technique is 0.15-0.30. The noble gasses and transuranic elements are not tabulated below because their concentrations are lower than the 0.001 ppm detection threshold limit.

The results are presented as Parts Per Million Mass (1 ppm = 0,0001%).
