Downtrend, (also known as Bear Run) is the bane of many. Not only it signal economic contraction, which is always a sensitive issue to National Pride, it cause many investors to lose value of their portfolio.
However, it can also been seen as a way to reduce the excessive bubble caused by irrational speculation during the Bull Run period. Thus bringing down the price of the stocks and shares to their real economic values. Recently, Singapore has introduce more measure such as CFD (Contract for Difference) and extended settlement period to allow Investors to be able to make capital gains even in Bear Run.
