Human Cloning --- why the opposition ?

Why are so many people pretending to take a "moral" stand on human cloning ? How different is it from in-vitro fertilisation / test-tube babies, artificial insemination et al ?  Do these people really think that a clone will be a non-human ?  Or that a clone will be exactly like the original ?  Are they afraid that someone will try to clone Hitler ?  I really find this fear of human clones being identical to the originals ridiculous.  If Hitler were to grow up now [where, in Germany, in the USA, in Britain ??] would he be undergoing the same pressures, having the same ideas, having the same people around him as he had in the 1910s onwards ?  C'mon ... a human being's behaviour, thoughts and actions are not just genetic, they are also influenced by his environment, his parents and upbringing, the exposure to the media etc.  Dolly the sheep [and her predecessors] has already proven that a clone isn't the same, physically, as the original. How about this report on cc [for "carbon copy"] which shows that a cloned kitten is no copy ?

Cloning is as inevitable and as extant as the nuclear bomb. Learn to live with it.
