Vajpayee made another of his flip-flops a couple of days ago.
Speaking to the Jawans he talks of a decisive battle and then, the next
day, says that the skies are clear [although he throws in a hint about
lightning].
Today he said that India should have taken action immediately after
13-Dec. So what has stopped India the past one week ?
Musharraf is scheduled to make a speech on Monday evening. With
the missile tests [for the benefit of his nation] under his belt he will
again talk of action against terrorists and Uncle Sam will let him off
the hook. Wily guy, him. And Vajpayee comes across as the little
boy who is always complaining and complaining. [Musharraf is "doing
something" and Vajpayee is only "crying"].
I think that, in the long run, India might well be as distrustful of the US as the US was of India in the '60s and '70s.
"Roses in December"
I've already included a mention of "Roses
in December" in my recommendations
page. Shree M. C. Chagla may not have been as famous as Nehru,
Gandhi and the INC leadership. But he was present and seeing and
listening when India gained Independence and later, right up to the early
'70s. Need I emphasise that Shree Chagla was a Muslim ?
