More on India-Pakistan Bhai-Bhai

   My response to that article :

   Such a reaction in Pakistan is not unexpected and IS what we must .... well "fear" IS the word to use.Surely Musharraf is aware of how Pakistani establishments,putting aside the common man who doesn't count in Pakistan's democracy, would react.  Maybe he has somethingup his sleeve.  Maybe he has negotiated something withthe Pakistan military.  Maybe, "the road to hell ...".

3. “everytime stuff like this happens i remember that hijacked plane and the girl who became a widow on her honeymoon. maybe im wrong. but wht is the great need to go overboard? we dont hv any astute sardar patel like statesmen any more.”

   My response :

   Well, let's hope and pray that such things do not come about again.

4. “Relax, buddy. Give them a chance. Optimism and enthusiasm for a cause, even if inconsistent, is million times better that being pessimistic & skeptical. Nothing happens unless somebody gets excited. In this case, if two nations are excited about their (positive) future relationship, what's your problem? Do you want those guys to continue killing each other off or what?

   I do not know why you want to throw up over this. If you are, please do so before touching down in India. Leave your mess behind and let the locals take care of this. NRIs and NRPs don't have a beef, atleast not where I am. Many of my close friends are NRPs. Why not the locals have the same choice!!”

   My response :

   "Optimism and enthusiasm" Yes.  "for a cause"  Not sure what the cause is.
   
   "If two nations .. what's your problem .. those guys ".  My dear friend, I AM a citizen of one
   of those nations.  I am not a foreigner.  I am a member of that family, not an outsider.
   Your words smack of condescension.
   
   "Leave your mess behind and let the locals take care of it".  Jeeze. You aren't an Indian
   are you, calling Indians "locals".
