MBAs don't favour Dot-Coms now !
Should we be surprised ! These "MBAs" were just looking for the fad of the day. Would you recruit any of these guys ? They'd say
a. They were quick to spot the opportunity ("can think on their feet", "work at New Economy speeds" ......)
b. They were able to make the best of both worlds.
Nope. I wouldn't hire such a person.
i. Short-term opportunist.
ii. Does not value education enough -- do they remember that they were the "cream" only who were able to take up MBA studies ? When they quit their studies weren't they being disrespectful to society, their parents and the companies / universities that paid for their scholarships ?
iii. Pretending to be a management student without bothering to do any strategic planning.
iv. Can I trust the person not to jump ship again and go into the next "new economy" wave without bothering to add any value to my company ?
Security Risk with BankOne's Internet Access
It's quite surprising that BankOne keeps the user's Credit-Card number in his cookie. Not surprising, shocking ! (See a copy of InterHack's Report). With my Citibank account I have noticed that, although Citibank maintains a Login Username and a cookie file, neither the Login Username nor my Citicard / CreditCard number is visible in the cookie (at least not in plain-text). With my DBS account, the Login Username is maintained only on the server and there is no cookie being updated.
"The proof is in the pudding; we haven’t had any security breaches since we
launched the site in 1998," said Bank One spokesman Tom Kelly.
--- that's quite immature ! It's like saying "I've been
driving my car for 4 years and have never had an accident -- that proves that me
and my car are safe".
