Chapter 4

Alicia back into the wall of her apartment her spear grasp tightly in her hand. The harpies were scratching at the roof of her apartment, trying to tear it apart.

“What should I do” she wondered to herself.

Just then, a shield smash into a harpy and brought it down. The harpies turned around and to Alicia relieve, her pal Drake was here. Crystal held out a tiny staff and started chanting an incantation while balancing her staff. Her partner Abyss slashes at the harpy’s claw foot making way for Drake to dash into the house.

“Alicia” Drake shouted as he smashed through the wooden door and fell into the house relieved to see Alicia alive and unscratched. “Are you ok?” he asked concerned about his friend.

“Yar” she replied “just a little shocked” then she look out at the super novice outside and asked “who are they” pointing in the direction of the novices.

“They are some form of guardian I suppose” Drake answered “I explained it to you later right now we need to help them” he said seeing the looked of confuse on her face.

Meanwhile, the super novices were doing well even without the help of the paladin and the lord knight. Abyss ducked away from the attacked easily as though he could read the movement of the harpies whereas a pink wall of light surrounding Crystal protected her.

The harpies were hopeless in their attempt to hurt either one of them and were even more hopeless as both the super novices move through the flock of harpies at such speed that the harpies don’t even know what hit them. Abyss conjure sword out of thin air and throw them like a boomerang at the flying harpies, cutting off their wing or giving them a fatal strike in the heart.

“Thunder storm” Crystal shouted summoning a huge thundercloud above the flock of harpies and striking them with bolts of lightning after lightning. She mumble another incantation “Chain lightning” she shouted, turning the lightning bolts into lightning like sword piercing through the heart of harpies after harpies like a blood thirsty chain.

Both the novices move work at such speed that the flock of harpies were wept out in less then half an hour with the help of the Izulde army. The remaining survival of the harpies fled away from the city while the warrior cheer and celebrate for the victory.

The novices pull both Alicia and Drake back into Drake’s house away from the celebration.

“You what” Drake nearly fainted as Alicia relate her weird dream to Drake in the presence of the novices.

“I am not sure” Alicia replied sounding foolish to believed in such things, “but it seems so real”.

“Maybe it’s because of the knock in the head” Drake suggested.

“But didn’t you have a similar dream?” Alicia pointed out.

“Erm…” Drake blush.

“Look” Crystal break in, “this is no time for your argument. From the attack earlier on, it seems that Fenris had a rough idea of what Volcanon is planning therefore we need to move fast and find the rest of the successor as soon as possible before Fenris’s general gets to them.”

“How do I know if this isn’t a trick?” Drake asked not trusting the novices due to their performances earlier on.

Abyss put out his arm and folded up the sleeves of his cloth to reveal a wing marking. Alicia grasped as she saw the marking.

“That marking” she said “that is the marking the lord knight show me in my dream” she continued certain of what she was saying.

“Well that’s settle” Crystal replied happily not bothering about the unhappy look on Drake face. “Could we set off by today?” Crystal asked.

“We will need to stock up for the journey by today so the earliest we can leave was only by tomorrow morning.” Drake answered still not trusting the novices.

“Fine with me” Alicia said settling herself down on Drake’s bed

“Why are you sitting on my bed?” Drake asked Alicia

“Well my house was in ruined so I will have to make it up by staying here” she smiled as she replied. “The guys will sleep on the floor and Crystal can share the bed with me”

“But…” Drake wanted to protest but was drag away by Abyss into a corner of the house to watch over the girls and soon the house was filled with nothing but just some light snoring and rustling.

Meanwhile, in the grand church of the capital Prontera

A high priest was working her spell on the wounded survival of the villages that was being raided by Fenris’s army.

“You should rest master,” her apprentice told her as she brought more healing material and bandage into the room.

Angel merely shook her head and replied “Its okay my dear, the people need us more then we need to rest”

“But you know the high priest of this church would not allow of that master” her apprentice told trying her best not to meant anything.

“I know” she replied still tending to the wounded “but the rest of the priest are send to the other cities to tend to the refugees of other villages and there are no other accomplish high priest in this church other then the head priest and me” she sigh.

Her apprentice was about to protest when she continued “beside the other priests and acolyte are all drained of their magical energy and could not perform any other spells until they rested and it was best it they don’t perform too much other healing spells or they might die of exhaustion”

Her apprentice unable to convince her master to rest gave up and went out of the room to get more supplies. Suddenly, the patient she was tending to disappear and she found herself in a dark room like that of what both Alicia and Drake had experienced.

“Where am I” she wondered to herself looking around for something that would help her identify the place.

“This is just a place in your dream where I could talked to you face to face without being interrupted”

Angel turned around and came face to face with a high priest.

“Who are you?” she asked

“My name is Light,” the high priest said “one of the 12 guardian of the god Volcanon.”

“The god of Sun?” Angel asked uncertain of who Light was referring to.

“Yes” light nodded “the god of sun, but he was captured now and the god of moon, Fenris was causing all this destruction to man kind with her generals which result in all this” she gestured towards picture whereby a village was raided by the monster.

“That terrible” Angel nearly cried when she saw villagers young and old being killed by the monster.

“There is something you can do to stop this however” Light reassured her.

“How?” Angel asked as she turn back to face Light.

Light smiled glad that her successor was as kind hearted as she was. “You will have to free God Volcanon from the hand of Fenris. In order to do that, you will have to venture into the castle of the moon goddess herself but to get there you will have to go through the peak of mount Yuno which is linked to the divine world with the other successor.” She explained

“So how do I get there?” she asked

“Don’t worried just stayed where you are and someone will come and get you” she answered “just looked out for this symbol” and she show her a picture of a wing. “If you see this its means they are the one you will need to go with. I better go before they discovered this communication and starts to assault you.”

With that she vanished and Angel found herself back in the room of the grand church.

“Are you okay master” her apprentice asked when she entered the room and saw her master lying on the ground.

“Yeah, I guess I better rest” Angel said thinking that maybe she was too tired to have seen the illusion. She left the room leaving her apprentice confused about what had just happened and what had made her persistent master decided to rest.

While she walked passed an open window of Prontera church, she felt a cooling breeze blow through thinking about what had just happened. “I guess I go for a walk” she thought to herself leaving the church quietly. However, unknown to her, a group of four were moving towards her direction in chaos.
