Outside Izulde City, Prontera field. “What
are you doing” Drake nearly fainted when he saw Alicia pouring large amount of
oil onto the frying pan. “Are you trying to burn us to death” he asked as he
snatched the frying pan away from her. “Opps
Sorry” Alicia grin apolitically as she passed the bottle of oil to Drake. Crystals
look on at the scene sighed and looked at the night sky. What should have been a
three-hour walk from Izulde to Prontera had become a full day walk partly the
fault of Alicia and Drake arguing along the way. “This
is not an excursion do you know that?” she had told them before but they
doesn’t seems to heed her at all. She sighed again and looked back to the
heated argument-taking place. Abyss
merely set away from the argument trying to do his share of the cooking, which
he was assigned to do and not bothered by the argument-taking place at all. “Alicia,
do you even know how to cook?” Drake asked as he tried to save their dinner. “Er
not really, I usually order delivery or I goes out to a nearby inn for
dinner.” Alicia said. “But I did cook once in awhile” she added. On
hearing that, Drake pulled whatever she was doing away from her and ordered her
to start up a campfire instead. Soon, the party was asleep and two of the member
was found sitting around the campfire occasionally throwing dried branches into
the fire to keep the fire burning. “Who
are you anyway,” Drake asked Abyss who was doing guard duty with him as he
throw another stick into the fire. “I
am not suppose to tell you” Abyss said as he stared into the bright light of
the campfire, “besides, Crystal forbid it,” he added. “I
am not sure if I trust the both of you at all” Drake said as he lay down on
the soft grass staring up at the night sky. “You
don’t have to” Abyss replied. Drake
was about to ask why when they heard rustling of bushes around them. “Did
you hear that?” Drake whispered “Yeah”
Abyss replied, “Guard the girls” he said as Drake moved towards their tent
holding out his shield while Abyss conjure a sword out of thin air ready to hurl
it at anything that comes at them. They
waited for awhile and Drake was about to called to Abyss to tell him that maybe
it was just a false alarm when a sudden hordes of whisper boss appear out of
thin air and glided quietly through the night air towards them. Drake
threw his shield like a boomerang towards the hordes of whisper knocking them
away from the tent while Abyss ran into the midst of the ghost and started
slashing at them as if he was cutting paper. He conjured another sword out of
thin air and swinging both swords at the whispers slashing any upon contact.
Drake slam at the oncoming hordes of whisper with his shield while performing a
series of holy skills such as grand cross to kill off any whisper that enter the
range of fire. Alicia
and Crystal, who had been awakened by the noise, were helping out in the battle
against the whisper. Alicia jumped out of attack of a nearby whisper and threw
her spear like a boomerang at it. She caught the spear while it return and smash
her spear down at the hordes of whisper, causing a tiny explosion, burning and
killing those whispers nearby. Crystal
had conjured the same wall of light that had protected her against the harpies.
She picked a few well-chosen spells and started her assault on the whisper
summoning ice bolts and fire bolts to rain down on the floating ghost. However
this was not the main of their problem. The
whispers that they had killed had transformed into ghouls and zombies and were
advancing on them without backing out of fear. Further more, each time a ghoul
or zombie was killed, the corpse of the dead ghoul or zombie would split into
two or more undead. “They
are increasing” Alicia shouted as she fights to push a ghoul away from her.
“Do something Drake,” she shouted. “I
can’t” Drake shouted slashing at a ghoul with his prize weapon, the
Excalibur. “The ghouls are preventing me from performing holy spells” Crystal
hurled a fireball at her ghoul before conjuring the pink wall around Drake.
“That should buy sometime,” she shouted to drake as she hurled another
fireball at an advancing group of ghouls. Drake
nodded and began chanting the incantation when an arrow hit him in the chest. He
looked up to see where the arrow had came from only to see a flock of gargoyle
approaching. He pluck out the arrow from his armor and continued with the
chanting but was disturbed by the gargoyle and was forced to switch to a
defensive skill. Just
when the party seems to be losing, holy spells started smashing themselves at
the hordes of undead. The group turned and saw Angel who was passing by, casting
holy spells and throwing them at the undead. The undead seems to understand that
Angel could wiped them all out and decided to attack her instead of the foursome
giving time for them to recover from their damages. Angel
sensing trouble, summon a thin layer of invisible wall, basilica to protect her
from harm while she concentrate on her most powerful skill. She chanted the
incantation for the spell and the ground begins to glow. “Magnus Exorcismus”
she shouted directing the spell area to grow. The undead flee as they saw the
spell, killing any of their kind instantly while the gargoyle watch on
helplessly as their allies was wiped out. The remaining of the monster tried to
flee from the scene but was wiped out by the foursome in a matter of time. Once
the battle was over the foursome thank their savior. “Thanks
a lot” Alicia said while shaking Angel hand. “Its
nothing” she replied smiling at the others “But those monster aren’t
suppose to be found here either is there a reason for this unexpected event?”
she asked. “I
am not sure…” Drake hesitated “It
because they are the chosen successor of the 12 guardian” Crystal replied
suddenly. Drake
and Alicia turned and looked at Crystal in shock. “I
thought she say we are not suppose to tell anyone who we are?” Drake whispered
to Abyss but he merely looked bored. Drake
unable to figure out the reason turned and asked Crystal herself. “I
thought you say we are not suppose to tell anyone who we are?” he asked trying
to corner Crystal. She
merely smiled at him and said to no one in particular, “She is one of the
chosen successor, the guardian of light” |
