HP200LX  -  Palmtop PC

Truly, my prized possession.  It's been my everything.  A co-worker, an organiser, a compiler, a database,a diary and most of all a companion.  BTW, I've christened her Natalie *after Natalie Imbruglia*.  I carry her all over the place.

The term palmtop PC shouldn't be used lightly.  With the proliferation of PDAs, the market has been flooded with choice.  Windows CE has expensive advertising and marketing plus Microsoft's push to back it up.  The PALM OS is the new kid on the block that has taken everyone with it's nice interface and size to impress (I am too!).

All the 200LX has is a very large group of faithful users that you can find on the HPLX mailing list. A typical user would be someone from the age when MS-DOS ruled.  He/She would typically be of above average computer literacy and looks for purpose more than form and GUI in their computer peripherals.  The 200LX has it's shortcomings like the lack of a backlit screen & the size *though it's still smaller than the 620LX*.  However, the 80186 onboard and it's sheer class is any user's dream.  Just to get some of you thinking, it runs programs such as Turbo C V2.0, MS-Windows V3.0, Norton Commander V4.0.  Most cool of all, I can use it as a remote control to turn on/off electronic appliances around my house.

Still, the pride I have in the set is bourne out of the fact that it was made right here in Singapore!!
