Young Artists' Club. Singapore
The first Young Artists' Club in Singapore was officially set up
on 16 August 1986 when the student strength of Boon
Lay Art Centre had increased to 600.The club aims to sustain and spark
off interest in the youth about art and to enable youngsters to dictate
their own path and participate more actively in the art scene.
Although entry requirements were strict, there was a steady increase
in the membership of the club. Currently , the club boasts of a healthy
strength of 300 who come from all parts of Singapore, transcending the
original representation of the Club as just a constituency representative.
Now, it is a new force on the designing and art scene in Singapore with
over ten years of glorious history. With its excellent results both globally
and at home, the Young Artists' Club has truly matured into a representative
of the youth and the new driving force to be in the future of Singapore,
both on the art and design scene.
