MATSUKAZE

Introduction

The name means pine tree wind. Another name seems to be Wankan or king’s crown.

Steps

  1. Kama-tte (Face North). Move right leg towards left leg and stand in musubi dachi. Simultaneously bring both fists towards chest and change into open hands with left hand in front of the right hand. Rotate both hands inwards and end up with finger tips pointing downwards.
  2. Turn right into left nekoashi dachi and execute a right shuto uke. Face East.
  3. Turn left into right nekoashi dachi and execute a left shuto uke. Face West
  4. Left leg steps West to form shiko dachi, body facing North. Perform a right punch followed by a left punch.
  5. Right leg steps North into right zenkutsu dachi and perform a jodan shuto kosa uke.
  6. Pull down both hands and change into fists. Simultaneously execute a left hand punch towards West and a right hand punch towards East.
  7. Shift left leg West of right leg into right nekoashi dachi and execute a left shuto uke
  8. Right leg steps West into left nekoashi dachi and execute a right shuto uke.
  9. Left leg steps West into right nekoashi dachi and execute a left shuto uke.
  10. Step into left crane stance and right hand perform a jodan shuto yoko uchi against left palm.
  11. Right feet steps North into right zenkutsu dachi and perform a left yoko barai.
  12. Pull right leg back by half step into hachiji dachi and execute a right hand punch. Simultaneously pull left fist back under right arm.
  13. Right feet steps North into right zenkutsu dachi and perform a left ura uke.
  14. Pull right leg back by half step into hachiji dachi and execute a right hand punch. Simultaneously pull left hand back above right arm.
  15. Turn anticlockwise 180 degrees, left leg steps East and execute a left gedan barai.
  16. Perform a right punch.
  17. Right leg steps East into left nekoashi dachi and execute a right shuto uke.
  18. Left leg steps E into right nekoashi dachi and execute a left shuto uke.
  19. Step into left crane stance and right hand perform a jodan shuto yoko uchi against left palm.
  20. Right feet steps North into right zenkutsu dachi and perform a left yoko barai.
  21. Pull right leg back by half step into hachiji dachi and execute a right hand punch. Simultaneously pull left fist back under right arm.
  22. Right feet steps North into right zenkutsu dachi and perform a left ura uke.
  23. Pull right leg back by half step into hachiji dachi and execute a right hand punch. Simultaneously pull left hand back above right arm.
  24. Left leg steps North into left zenkutsu dachi and execute a left gedan barai.
  25. Right leg steps S turning 180 degrees clockwise in the process and execute a right gedan barai.
  26. Punch with left fist.
  27. Left mae geri and land in left zenkutsu dachi and execute a right hand punch.
  28. Right mae geri and land in right zenkutsu dachi and execute a left hand punch.
  29. Left mae geri and land in left zenkutsu dachi and execute a right hand punch.
  30. Left leg steps back to the West of right leg into shiko dachi and perform a right sukui uke using the right fist. As the right fist goes up to the ear level, shift the left foot towards the right to form hachiji dachi.
  31. Nao-tte. Pull back left foot to form musubi dachi. Simultaneously bring both fists towards chest and change into open hands with left hand in front of the right hand. Rotate both hands inwards and end up with finger tips pointing downwards. Shift right leg right to Nao-tte position.
