The Job Page.

 Intro and personal sharing.

 Job Data Bank links

For those of you whom are just making it out to the market from the academy, don't worry you're not alone. That's why I created this page in the first place. For those of you whom are looking for a job change because of that slave-driver boss of yours. Hey, think of the thousands of unemployed graduates out there. (including me) That moron (you know who I'm referring to) would rather pay something dirt cheap to have an inexperienced and green grad over someone experienced and who costs a salary that would turn him navy blue. Which colour do you think would best go with his necktie and underwear? Bingo! So try to give the stray ones a chance will ya?

I've made a list of possible job agencies and a jobs data bank here but you may want to try the corporate sites too. I've had some not-so-good experiences when I went to register at some other agencies. (Don't worry they're not listed here) Some of these so-called HR consultants can ask really unprofessional and sometimes stupid questions. Some even tried to match make me with jobs which I'm over-qualified for. Yeah right, you can't be fussy when there's an economic downturn. But haven't they thought of the fact that employers are scared of the musical chairs game? You know, when the economy improves, the music would begin and that's when you'll see a huge displacement of employees hopping around to get better jobs. So how do they gain commitment when they keep sending people whom are overqualified for the post? Recovery days are not far away you know.

Another thing. No goondu agency would ask you to choose whether you want to have CPF contributions or not. Should you have that question thrown at you, you can be sure that the idiot consultant has been doing things under the table. Report that agency immediately to the CPF Board as contributions are compulsory by law and you deserve that rightful percentage of employer's contributions as well.

Lastly, agencies are taking advantage of the recession to pay as low as possible and earn a commission as high as possible. (remember the monkey on the first page?) If the consultant tells you they don't earn anything from you, that's crap because that's how they survive anyway. Honesty is the best policy so if they're not practicing it, be on your guard.

Good luck on the job hunting! (I need the luck too)
