I had my primary education at Monk's Hill Primary School. Sadly only the building is still there, the school has ceased to exist.
My secondary school education was done at
Anderson Secondary School.
Not the one in Ang Mo Kio though! But the one at Stevens Road. I still remember taking SBS bus number 151S, going to Metro Orchard to buy sweets ! Yes buying sweets at Metro Orchard!!
Playing football in class... :-). Sadly
Raffles Girls School annexed Anderson premises and there goes my secondary school.
All our effort of raising funds to build additional building went down the drain. Oh Well !!
Next I headed to
Anderson Junior College ! Yeah Baby ... I really had fun in AJ especially as a pioneer, going to school in
red shoes
! The only issue I had was the attitude of both the Principal and Vice Principal. They seemed to have something against me ! Maybe it was my face or maybe it was just my perception or it could be the
red shoes !!
Spent 3 months in ITD, 3 months in SAFINCOS (defunct) and the next two years as an instructor in School Of Basic Military Training (SBMT).
Life got mundane! After ROD, worked in
Development Bank of Singapore (DBS) because my "A" Level results were not good enough for NUS. Resigned from DBS (2.5 year later) and joined
Housing Development Board (HDB). I was given a lucky break by the
Center for Computer Studies
(Ngee Ann Polytechnic)which has since been renamed to
School of Information & Communications Technology. By the time I graduated from NP, I went for 2 interviews
and was offered a position in
HDB and
National Computer Board (NCB). Eventually, I selected NCB (via
NCS) and have never regretted that decision. Left NCS for
United Overseas Bank (UOB). Left UOB a year later to join
Dresdner Global IT Services (DREGIS) Asia-Pacific Regional Centre. Academically, pursued a
Bachelor degree from one of the local commercial schools and pass with satisfactory results. Currently pursuing
MSc in Business Information Technology from Middlesex University run by
Singapore Polytechnic Graduate Guild (SPGG).
