悠 悠 独 上 秋 游 道 ，  Leisurely and alone, I set off on my autumn rambles, 
习 习 凉 风 雨 后 晴 ，  Cool, cool is the breeze after the rain,
天 边 彩 霞 鳞 比 比 ，  Row upon row of crimson scales fill the western sky,   
长 木 桥 下 水 涟 涟 ，  And ripples liven up the water under the long wooden bridge,   
轻 快 轻 快 迈 入 园 。  Light-heartedly, I stride into The Chinese Garden.  
                             
绿 林 丘 上 入 云 塔 ，  On a green wooded hill stands Pagoda Ruyin,  
红 檐 白 墙 六 角 窗 ，  Red eaves,white walls,hexagon windows, 
三 十 石 级 绕 六 边 ，  Thirty stone steps, one circle, six sides,                     
螺 旋 六 层 登 塔 顶 ，  Spiralling up six floors to the top,
六 水 风 光 别 有 天 。  I spy six waters of diverse scenic views.  


圆 柱 方 柱 冲 天 立 ，  skyscrapers,round and square, rush for the sky,    
鸽 子 框 框 镶 方 块 ，  Pigeon-hole frames decorate hugh retangular blocks,
还 有 铁 蛇 穿 梭 爬 ，  And among them, to and fro crawl two metal snakes.        
溪 水 木 桥 添 乡 情 。  But the nearby stream and wooden bridge add country air.  
 
弧 形 五 孔 双 秀 桥 ，  Dome-shaped Shuangxiu Bridge sits on five archways, 
白 里 红 晕 夕 阳 下 ，  Its white facade blushes under the sunset glow,
远 处 隐 约 星 和 园 ，  Dimly visible afar is Xinhe Park. 
奈 何 湖 上 无 舟 帆 ？  Oh, why aren't there any sail-boats on the lake? 

近 眺 远 眺 另 一 方 ，  Another direction, I pick my glance far and near,  
处 处 湖 光 争 幽 媚 ，  Glimpses of the lake manifest serenity and grace: 
青 翠 木 林 湖 湾 水 ，  Fresh green woods by quiet bays; 
碧 空 彩 霞 水 中 天 。  And in the water, a vast sky with still rosy clouds.

鳞 次 栉 比 琉 璃 瓦 ，  By a bank a cluster of roofs with glazed blue tiles, 
巨 石 砌 堤 竹 竖 墙 ，  A foot-bridge formed of rocks, a wall lined with bamboo trees,  
曲 树 巧 峰 满 庭 院 ，  And courtyards filled with mini trees and mini mountains, 
小 桥 流 水 蕴 秀 园 。  Small bridges and flowing streams crisscross Wensiu Court.

万 绿 丛 中 串 串 红 ，  Among the green foliage are broad bands of red, 
莫 是 奇 苞 正 怒 放 ？  Are they mysterious buds in full blossom ?  
盏 盏 彩 灯 陪 秋 月 ，  "Colourful lanterns keeping company with the autumn moon", 
湖 边 垂 杨 迎 风 笑 。  Laugh the willows swaying in the wind by the lake. 

百 鹤 朝 凤 茗 香 池 ，  At Minxiang Pond,a hundred cranes pay homage to Queen Phoenix,
千 娇 百 媚 展 骚 姿 ，  Displaying their graceful postures in full splendour.
祥 凤 点 头 秋 灯 亮 ，  The benevolent queen nods her head and the lanterns light up.
愿 与 寿 鸟 迎 千 禧 ！  I will the longevity birds together welcome the new millennium !

漫 步 漫 步 林 中 径 ，  Lightly,lightly I saunter along the wooded paths,    
树 树 袅 袅 晚 风 里 ，  The leaves on the trees dance in the evening breeze,    
彩 光 点 点 中 秋 夜 ，  And dotting among them are the sparkles of lantern lights,    
晴 空 皓 月 亮 圆 圆 ，  Round,round is the moon, so bright in the clear night sky!
人 间 是 否 都 圈 圈 ？  Could all human relationships be as perfect as the moon?

秋 花 飘 香 醉 倒 人 ，  Intoxicating is the aroma of the autumn blossoms,
探 胜 赏 灯 游 客 心 ，  Hearts' desire, exploring scenic spots and catching sparkles, 
佛 山 巧 灯 夺 天 工 ，  Foshan lanterns' intricacy and artistry glitter non-surpassed, 
骚 人 墨 客 霸 宫 灯 ，  Writers deep in ink dominate the court lanterns with eulogies, 
赞 叹 声 中 渡 中 秋 。  And I enjoy the festival in wonderment and exuberance.
