The creation of every part of each piece of furniture involves a different skill, from the creation of the hinges and other hardware, to the cutting and carving of the wood. Rustica was the first to offer the "Hacienda" style of rustic pine furniture in the Singapore. Since then, this style of furniture has been made widely available throughout the area, since it is mass produced in Mexico. In response, Rustica developed its own unique line of rustic pine furniture using recycled wood (also known as worm wood, due to the characteristic grooves in the wood created by insects) instead of newer pine (which tends to have a high moisture content and warps and cracks easily during the climate change from Mexico to Utah). The result is furniture with an authentic rustic flavor, of a higher quality than furniture from the production lines. |
