Me?
KC Tan, a freelancer now and I have been practicing photography
since 1973 after graduating from "Photography Art" course
in a tertiary institute. In 1978, I joined a professional
color lab to learn color printing after realizing that people
always
judge your skill by the end-product: a good photo print.
The knowledge I had learnt in the lab enable me to practise
and perform
better in color photography especially in today trend: digital
photography. You need a lot of color theories to understand
digital photography better especially the simple yet confusing
topic "Open
System Color Management". In analog photography, we
leave the post production works to the lab's professional
but not
digital photography when you want to get the most out from
the raw images
you have shot. I was a lecturer teaching photography for
many years and throughout the teaching process, I had gained
valuable
photographic and digital imaging knowledge due to circumstances.
All in all, the experiences that I had gone through shaped
me to control the whole photographic workflow efficiently. Later,
I spent 3 years studied diploma in computer science, thinking that
a good knowledge about computer is helpful in my works. I benefitted
from it indeed. |
