That the Internet is a huge repository of information is something which cannot be denied. Clever scientists have calculated that, if one were to spend one's entire life surfing the sites on the WWW in alphabetical order (stopping only for meals, toilet breaks and to watch Seinfeld re-runs), one would die a bitter, smelly octogenarian while checking out the "Aardvarks' Fascinating World" website.
But to transfer this wealth of data from the 'Net to your brains is a pain in the mouse. I mean, how many of us wish to spend hour after hour sitting in a swivel chair and hunched over a keyboard, eyes glued to a flickering computer screen emitting radiation which is slowly turning your internal organs into blackened mush?
When was the last time you curled up in your favourite armchair with a PC and a good .html document? And, of course, reading in the loo will never be the same again. Last but not least, there is the obvious physical hazard of falling asleep while lying in bed and reading…
In short, a book in hand is worth two on the 'Net.
