M otherO fM ercy
"And a great sign appeared in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon was under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars… And she brought forth a male child, who is to rule all nations with a rod of iron… [T]he rest of her offspring [were they] who keep the commandments of God, and hold fast the testimony of Jesus." (Rev 12:1, 5 & 17) |
This is a beautiful picture of a statue of the Blessed Mother (as she appeared in Medjugorje, Yugoslavia, in 1981). In these apparitions, she is crowned with 12 stars like the Woman in Rev 12. Her role is to help "the rest of her offspring" reconcile with her first-born, Jesus Christ, "[the] male child, who is to rule all nations with a rod of iron". It was, in fact, Our Lady of Medjugorje who brought me back to the Church of Jesus Christ, the Catholic Church.
