About the recent movie "Fight the Future": Although the movies was quite disappointing in the sense that it didn't answer the most burning questions: 1. Who are the aliens? 2. How many types of aliens are there? 3. How did Scully get her pants back while escaping from the alien spaceship? However, it DID answer some things that most of the fans have already guessed: 1. There IS a global conspiracy - not just that Mulder has been 'used'. 2. There IS at least one type of alien of sorts. 3. The consortium are acting as agents for the invading/colonizing aliens to secure protection for themselves. 4. The consortium HAS been successful in producing a vaccine against the aliens. About the conspiracy so far.... So Mulder's an Alien-Human hybrid. Did cancer man really take out his 'mojo' that makes him so? Is Mulder still a hybrid? How can you possibly remove a genetic thing by a surgical procedure?? I have no answers... I hope Cris Carter has one. Why do I like the X-Files so much? 1. The story I've always been facinated with the unknown, paranormal events (eg. gosts, ESP) and with UFO's. I do believe that Extra-Terrastrial Intelligence exists. In the series, agents Fox Mulder & Dana Scully investigates the unexplainable cases. Agent Fox Mulder (played by David "Du-kuv-nee") is my type of guy. He rushes in, gives the wierdest kind of explainations possible. Though he may not be correct all the time, the very facts he pulls out are mostly (if not all) solid documented events that I have encountered before (eg. The Philidelphia Experiment in the episode "Dod Kalm") On the other hand, I appreciate Dana Scully's scientific approach. As I am a science trained person, her reservations in believing in the paranormal makes the show most interesting as the both of them battle it out. 2. The Characters I feel that Mulder & Scully are quite real people. Mulder is not some tough guy who has a pony tail, sharp shooting and good at martial arts. Scully is also not some gorgeous babe with a perfect figure and long sexy legs. (I however do admit that David & Gillian are both quite good-looking) They way they think is also very human. Mulder rushes in, Scully is a skeptic. The both of them really makes a great partnership. 3. The Script Very addictive, quite scary sometimes (esp. Dod Kalm & End Game) Producer Chris Carter did a good job. 4. Integrity Pretty good, most materials from the episodes are based on scientific facts (I stress: mostly). Aside from the occasional slips (eg. The impressive-looking machine behind Scully in "Ascension" in the lab is not a electron scanning microscope, it's a X-Ray diffraction machine for analysing surfaces)(correct me if I am wrong) But most of the rest are good (eg: The 4 base pair of DNA in the aliens found in Purity Control)
