Song For The Ghostly Ship
Song For The Ghostly Ship
I was watching ships docking to a world
so different from what I used to know
Never recalling it
There must be some beaches
reachable from here
so different that I must have descended before
Always feeling strange from it
Starry navigation by my herd of guides
so far in the skies from where I stand
Splashing astro-stars, being part of it
Nothing crawling past some idling hands
It must have time to come ashore
Never able to keep up with talking-takers
Keeping all a magical box of slight sails
Hoisting and carrying me
The draggers of the sandy floors
beneath my waters, keeping me afloat
Picking winds, dampened in my palms
As a prayer is offered in disguise
Never reaching Him
Someday birds of the oceanic grounds
will glide and carry the seven scrolls
Fly a bluish sea and sink with it
I was told the ship will leave again
Never returning to where it docked before
Sailing in the nite, Guiders twinkling by
Always reaching me
