Interested to Start Climbing? Here are some courses available this Year for you.
Dates : 27-28th September 97 The Course is designed for those with
little or no prior knowledge of climbing.Participants on completing the
course will be given a certificate endorsed by the Singapore
Mountaineering Federation. 
Basic Rock-Wall Climbing Course
Time : 27th 2-6pm, 28th 9-5pm
Size : 6-12 persons
Fee : $60 (SAFRA member) $70 (Guest)
Registration can be made at the Safra Clubhouses. For more details,
please call Amir at 3714131. Registration is on a first come first serve basis.
National Sport Climbing Championship 1997, 5th-12th July
An annual event attracting hundreds each year. Last year's event was held at the World Trade Centre Expo Gateway. Winners of the event will be selected to represent Singapore in the Asian Championships. Application forms when available, can be obtained at all SAFRA clubhouses and Singapore Sports Council.
Mini Rock-wall climbing competition, October 1997
A smaller scale event as you would expect. details would be available some time later.
National Speed Climbing Competition, 22nd - 23rd November 1997
This event has a different emphasis. Focus is on speed and not technique. the walls are much more straightforward, no overhangs or fanciful stuff. Just get to the top in whatever technique you know. Participants will be judged on speed.
