

Alpine climbing refers to climbing done in regions above the tree-line, areas
where the temperatures are such little if any vegetation can survive. They are
characterised as barren, rocky and icy places. These mountainous regions offer
outdoor challenges which range from a enjoyable snow walk to extreme risk and
deprivation on the technical routes on the world's highest mountains.
