Due to the lack of naturally occurring climbing sites in Singapore, the most
popular form of climbing is Wall-Climbing. Only parts of the Bukit Timah
Nature Reserve are open to public for climbing. Some of these areas are strictly
regulated to protect inexperienced climbers. Rock-walls, however exist across
the island. Walls mainly reside in either Clubhouses or educational institutions. The aim of this Page is to better
inform the web-surfer of the more popular climbing
walls and natural climbing areas in Singapore.

Wall-climbing is by far the most popular form of climbing in Singapore.
Numerous walls exist in Singapore ranging from small indoor wall with nothing
more than a few anchor points and holds ( eg Singapore Polytechnic's ) to
massive, sculpted overhanging stuff costing hundreds of thousands of dollars (
eg. the wall in the army commando camp at Hendon, Changi ). There are also
mini-walls specially designed for children ( eg. Children's Rock-wall at SAFRA
Bukit Merah )
Chilren's wall at SAFRA Bukit Merah.
Most walls in Singapore are private walls thus you would need to acquire a
membership or you would not be able to utilise them. Unfortunately,
membership does not come cheap and is a hassle. Some walls are just not open
to the public. eg the army commando wall, access is rather hard - unless you
could pull some strings.
Below, we'll list a few sites and a brief description so that you could be better
informed. This list is by no means the complete list of all the walls in Singapore,
just the more popular ones and well-known ones.
