Lifting originated from a group of shirt specialists who mastered the art of shirt making at a very young age in the 1950s. This group of young men started their make-shift stalls in the bustle of Chinatown also known as the night markets - Pasar Malam. As the shirts matched the taste of the people, Lifting Shirts grew quickly.

The Company continued to expand with the arrival of more talented tailors which resulted in more designs and fashions. Naturally, Lifting progressed to become a household name among the Singaporeans, admired by all for its excellence in quality and workmanship. Lifting went on to make inroads into the Malaysian and Indonesian markets with much success.
