Welcome to our Home On-line.

Thanks for staying with us, and allowing us to share our excitement even as we saw the following "photographs". Stay with us, as we bring you through our experiences.

With Love,

Richard & Makiko.

7th March 2000: We visited Dr Chan as a routine check, after Makiko's polyps removal.

This is what showed on the scan: The little black "dot" marked by white crosses is our baby!

Expected Date of Birth : 08 November 2000

Didn't know what the size was though...

9th March 2000: Some bleeding!! So off to Dr Chan again.

Thank God! No harm to our little one, although the little black "dot" has grown by a little.

21st March 2000: Routine check day (or so we thought).

Guess what? We saw a little blinking dot inside a slightly bigger peanut size patch. That's our baby's heart! Our baby is already 9mm, really like a peanut, so we call it "" (bean) for now...

4th April 2000: The subsequent checkup.

After weeks of "jabs" to strenghthen the womb, we finally came for this checkup, and WOW! we could finally see our baby taking shape, no more a little "dot" ... this is the front view :

the side view, measuring 24 mm

29th April 2000: The next checkup.

This checkup was so exciting. We could actually see the baby moving around, even though it only measured 64mm! Makiko is still throwing out pretty bad, though.

27th May 2000: The checkup just after my reservist (ATEC!!).

I was actually trying very hard to defer this training because I wanted to care for Makiko, but unfortunately only got two weeks off, but had to attend the main exercise, the ATEC. Turned out pretty good performance too. Got a commendation from my commanders, and my "Good Service Medal" this in-camp too! Anyway, thank God I was excused from the debrief, which was on this morning, so I could bring Makiko to Dr Chan and see the exciting photos below. Our baby is now 108mm!

We could see our little baby moving soooo much. Very very active and cheerful! Dr Chan was actually trying to see if it is a boy or girl, but so much movement... but seems that it is likely a BOY, but to be confirmed next month. Can you see the little one pointing a finger??

22nd June 2000: A BOY??? or a GIRL???!

We were very very excited, wondering if it's a boy or a girl, since the last checkup we had was not conclusive. Well, actually, either is fine with both of us. Just curious... and guess what?

the picture above shows the 2 thighs, and Dr Chan indicated clearly that IT'S A BOY !! Isn't it amazing?? The thoughts that went through our minds was : wonder who he looks like? Hmmm....

Can't tell from the scans yet for today, and maybe for quite a while to go still.

24th July 2000: Who does our baby resemble?!

We were hoping to get a good glimpse of our baby's face this time round, but the best that we could manage to catch was... his profile! Hmmm... really keeping Daddy and Mummy in suspense...

Actually, two scan shots were taken for us, but the above picture is the better of the two. Our baby boy has been moving quite a lot recently, allowing Makiko to feel his body moving in her! What a feeling it is!! Well, guess we'll hope to see his face the next scan!

26th August 2000: The next visit

We were still hoping to get a good glimpse of our baby's face this time round, but it seems that our boy would rather keep us in suspense. His face was facing downwards, so we could not manage to see his face again.

He is growing much bigger, and the images are showing such large proportions that only Dr Chan could tell us the details from the scans. The scan we got shows a beautiful little feet so clearly, toes and all... Awwww...

16th September 2000: How big is he??

During this visit, Dr Chan took measurements of our baby's head, stomach and legs. As for the exact measurements, we don't remember. All we knew was, his head size is average, his stomach is average, and his legs, slightly shorter than the average. Guess he's taking after us... ha ha!

He is growing much much bigger, and so in the picture above, could only clearly see the ear! Cute, yah?!

01 Oct 2000: So far, that's all we have for now.
