The Raja Muda International Regatta 1997 is in its 8th year. The boats raced up the Straits of Malacca, along Malaysia's western coastline, in a series of overnight passages with 4 ports-of-call - Port Klang, Lumut, Penang & Langkawi. There were also triangle races held at Penang & at Langkawi.
"Raja Muda" means "Crown Prince". The "Raja Muda" in this instance refers to HH, the Crown Prince of Selangor, who is a keen sailor and both patron and competitor in the Regatta.
