Vedic Science and Technology (*)
-- the name given to the complete package of knowledge and technologies to better human
life, founded under Maharishi's direct guidance and inspiration. The term
"Vedic" is derived from "Veda" which is Sanskrit for
"knowledge", and refers to the knowledge and applications of the most ancient
surviving tradition of wisdom in the world, the Vedic tradition, now best preserved in
India. Vedic wisdom pre-dates civilization as we know it, and may be regarded as the
wisdom of a perfect ancient civilization, the most highly developed civilization of all
time, a Golden Age in mankind's deep historic past. Much of the knowledge of the
Vedic tradition has either been lost or distorted over the millennia, resulting in their

Dangers of Uncontrolled Genetic Engineering --
Genes are the microscopic blueprint at the basis of the expression of all life on
Earth. Found in all living cells and consisting of strands of a molecule known as
DNA, genes are responsible for building the different proteins that then go on to compose
and coordinate the very detailed and specific structures and functions of every single
aspect of all living organisms -- including the human being. Scientists, no doubt
with good intentions at heart, are now busily engaged in modifying the natural
structure and sequence of the genetic material of a wide variety of organisms,
particularly of the plants and animals consumed as food by humans. This
genetic manipulation is accomplished in a number of ways, including the use of a technique
whereby the genetic material of one organism, say of a virus, bacterium, fish, or pig, is
spliced (cut) and inserted into the genetic material of another usually completely
unrelated species, say of a tomato, corn, or other vegetable or fruit, for instance.
Many commercial products, particularly genetically modified foods, are now being freely
sold in your local supermarket with absolutely no labelling to indicate that the contents
have been subjected to genetic modification or treatment. Already, deaths
and permanent injuries have been reported from the consequences of exposure to such
genetically modified substances -- though the general public still seems largely
unaware of this! You and your loved ones may well already be innocent
victims of this massive global experiment being undertaken on your food supply, completely
without your knowledge or consent. The whole practice of uncontrolled
genetic engineering raises serious questions of ethics, health, consumer rights, religious
restrictions on certain foods, widespread governmental ignorance and neglect of the

Politics & Ideal Government
Are you one among the growing ranks of those who are disenchanted with 'politics
as it is'? In every nation, the call is growing louder for a fresh, more
enlightened approach to politics and government -- one that avoids the wasteful, damaging,
confrontational, party-oriented politics that is the order of the day, and which seems to
have little real regard for the people it is supposed to serve. Voters are fed up
with seeing essentially the same disappointing results despite electing one party after
another into government, or repeatedly choosing the same party to govern them in the
absence of a more viable alternative. Leaders tend to be high on hype and promise,
low on values, principles, and results. The good of the party and its leaders always
takes precedence over the good of the people, and parties and their leaders will do
anything to acquire or retain power even if only for what good it brings them
personally. Even the best-intentioned politicians quickly forget why they entered
politics, or plain run out of worthy ideas or solutions. For the most part, aside
from providing fodder for the newspapers via their propensity for sensation, scandal,
corruption, deception, ignorance, and neglect, precious little is done by parties in
government to address the issues that really matter and to improve the well-being of their
citizenry at the deepest, rather than just the mere surface, levels of their lives. Is
there a viable alternative to 'politics as usual'? Now, fortunately and
finally, it appears that there is! There is now a sane, sensible, clean, caring,
political party -- one first formed in Great Britain in 1992 and since then already
established in some 80 countries worldwide -- that actively seeks to introduce a new brand
of politics and a fresh approach to government. As they put it, "only a
new seed will yield a new crop." They seek to promote
non-confrontational politics, wherein the best minds and the most capable people of the
country, irrespective of their political affiliations, will be invited to form the
government. They also seek to promote greater utilization of scientifically-proven,
long-term, life-supporting solutions, rather than the ad hoc, expedient, interim measures
now typically employed, to address the problems of their nation and the world.

- My 'Real Form' Guide
If you are a sports follower of any description, this section may be of interest to you!
Whether you are a champion player who makes it all happen, a bookmaker/betting
agency running a business based on knowing the 'real' odds in games, an
enlightened, improvement-minded sports official, or just a plain diehard sports
supporter who wants to know more, you may find a visit to the following pages
insightful, enjoyable, and perhaps, even profitable. Since around 1988, I have been
working to develop an analytical system that can help gauge the 'real'
relative strengths of teams participating in a variety of sports run on the league
format, with a degree of accuracy greater than the rather simplistic, archaic
systems still in use. I am now testing the latest version of a software which seems
to give rather good results for the same. Let me invite you to take a sneak preview
of "O. K. Murali's 'Real
Form' Guide" so you can evaluate its predictive power for
yourself -- and give me some useful feedback.
For now, I shall present the two most recent versions of the 'Real Form'
Guide which employ two completely different calculation systems, for your
consideration. Links are provided below to two 'real life' applications
of the "Real Form" Guide, in both of its versions. If you're quite
familiar with both of the soccer tournaments discussed below, please tell me which version
of the results you like better, whether on a rational, 'logical' basis or simply on an

F.A. Premier League -- (*) --
Generally regarded as the most widely followed, annual, league sport tournament in
the world, this is the premier soccer league of the English Football Association.
The English hold the distinction of being the originators of modern, competitive
soccer, the world's most popular sport; so I shall pay them due tribute by using their
premier, national league tournament as my first example. Here, I present my assessment
of the relative strengths of the 20 clubs now vying for honours in the ongoing
2002-2003 English Premier League. It is my contention that the conventional tables
(what you are used to seeing in your newspapers) do not clearly reflect the relative
strengths of the teams, as they are based on a rather archaic, arbitrary, and weak
analytical system. Please note that I may be able to offer free public access to

Tournament -- (*) -- The most
recent edition of the world's most prestigious soccer tournament, held once every four
years. My 'Real Form' Guide works best for wholly league-based tournaments, but I
have tried to adapt it here to accommodate the league-plus-knockout system employed in the
World Cup. Perhaps, my system doesn't work so well in this 'mixed' context -- or
perhaps it works as well, if not better, than what is currently available out there.
