Remarks

As shown from the 2 tables above, there are certain smells that are pleasing to most people, others are not as appealing but remain neutral to the general public, while some are just plain repulsive.

Smells that are pleasing to the nose include smells such as, fruity sweet ones, mild musk, refreshing ones, and of course mouth-watering inducing ones. Yet not every of these various pleasant smells can be used as fragrances for perfumes. After all, not everyone would be glad to smell like Laksa or coffee all the time.

To us, smells that would really be good for perfume bases would be refreshing ones that give a clean feeling, like for example, green tea hints or mint. Once again, scents would have to be added in moderation, if not there's going to be a reverse effect. For example, in the case of the cherry scented candle, even though fruity smells are consider generally pleasant, the excessive fragrance and its overwhelming attack on our olfactory senses put us off on the spot.

Hence, like every other thing in life, always use fragrances in moderation.
