PEER-TO-PEER
NETWORK
If you have 10 or fewer nodes to connect, you you’ll probably want a peer-to-peer network. In this configuration, a single string of computers is connected together. Using a central controlling device called a hub is recommended. Each computer is an equal or peer of the other, and can share files and peripherals connected to the network. While a peer-to-peer is a low cost solution, it is not as efficient for sharing large and complex files, such as databases or graphics. HUB OR SWITCH? With a hub, all users share the same bandwidth. This works well with few users, but as you add users, competition for bandwidth can start to slow down traffic on the LAN. Switches are more appropriate when you need greater network performance or high-speed server uplink, such as if you need to connect users to few hubs or servers, or if you have to connect many power users together. A switch improves performance and shortens network response times by reducing the number of users per segment. A switch does this by providing dedicated bandwidth to every device server, PC, or hub connected to one of its ports. WHY ARE WE DIFFERENT? We are not selling networking hardware, but rather IT solutions. As such, our services are comprehensive and tailored to the specific requirements and unique specifications of our custormers. The comprehensiveness of our maintenance package comes in the form of after-sales support and network uptime gurantees. Quick response and recovery time (time between problem arise and problem solved) ensures the proper functioning of your crucial businesses. Custormer database with full details of network setups and problem histories facilitate efficient troubleshooting. Telephone support is also availabe for immediate attention. The Linux SAMBA File Server is highly recommanded when the integrity and security of the data is at stake.
