Glycolic acid, the first member of the series of alpha hydroxy acids, has properties that make it ideal for many applications. Its molecular formula is:

For personal and skin care applications in which purity is essential, DuPont supplies two high-purity grades of glycolic acid: Glypure® 70% Solution and Glypure® 99% Crystalline. Both products are colorless and odorless.
